A quick spree to La Junta Creek next to Burnt Ridge Trail is a great idea, and you'll meet a lot of people from Valdez here. In case you don’t mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Whitewater Outfitter - Far FLUNG Adventures. Throughout the summertime  
months, highs frequently are in the 80's at Burnt Ridge Trail, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 30's, and night lows at Burnt Ridge Trail all through the winter frequently fall into the 0's.
