Crest Trail   While visiting this area in New Mexico it's a good idea to go hiking too. You'll have to go far from Albuquerque to get to Crest Trail but hiking it is great fun any time. Since you're here at Crest Trail why not stop at Canon de Turieta, and a trip here wouldn’t be complete without a visit to close by Manzano Mountains State Park. Put some time aside to spend at Turrieta Spring while you're here at Crest Trail. Stay the night at New Canyon Campground, and     New Canyon Number One Spring is a good local attraction. There's so much to do here at Crest Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Capilla Peak Campground is a glorious location for that. Salinas Pueblo Missions National Monument is a great site in the neighborhood of Crest Trail. At Crest Trail you don’t see much precipitation. For the period of August this area sees the most rain, and January on the other hand is the driest. Summertime brings highs in the 90's to Crest Trail; throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 60's.
