Guaje Canyon Trail

  A long drive separates Los Alamos from Guaje Canyon Trail, but it is a great escape from the city. There are many wonderful hiking trails in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains where you can truly take in all the beauty of these mountains. Hiking here in New Mexico is a must.
Alright, enough of spending all this time inside a building, time to get out, and Guaje Canyon Trail in Los Alamos County, New Mexico is just the place. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody
    but if it's for you then we recommend Rio Chama. Why not camp at Las Conchas Campground since you're here at Guaje Canyon Trail. Looking for a magnificent trip? Bandelier National Monument is rather next to Guaje Canyon Trail, and
camping is available at Juniper Campground. At Guaje Canyon Trail you always meet someone from Los Alamos, and there are some great whitewater spots on Rio Grande. All through the warm days of summer highs here at Guaje Canyon Trail reach the 80's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 50's. During the winter highs are generally in the 40's with temperatures at Guaje Canyon Trail dipping down into the 10's all through winter nights. Around Guaje Canyon  
Trail you donít get a lot of rain. The wettest month of the year is commonly August, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest of the months is February.
