Lookout Trail   You'll have to go far from Silver City to get to Lookout Trail but it is a fun place to hike for the whole family. In the Black Range you'll find lots of hiking trails where beautiful scenery awaits you. Alright, enough of spending all this time inside a building, time to get out, and if you happen to be in Grant County of New Mexico, Lookout Trail is a great local trail for doing a bit of leg stretching. As long as you like the outdoors you will like New Mexico.     Don't leave Lookout Trail without first paying a visit to McMillan Spring. There's so much to do here at Lookout Trail that you need to camp here for a while, McMillan Campground is a great location for that. Just can't get enough of the Black Range. When you're here at Lookout Trail it's always fun to pop by City of Rocks State Park, and a perfect place for whitewater paddling is Gila River. Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument is a good national park, and Lookout Trail is not far at all from Arenas Valley. Lookout Trail is glorious enough to spend more than a day at, Cherry Creek Campground is a glorious local campground. Lookout Trail is pretty arid typically. Most of the rain falls   through July; April is when it's the driest. For the period of the summer months, highs usually are in the 80's at Lookout Trail, and all through the night it cools down to the 50's. Highs throughout the winter are ordinarily in the 50's; throughout the dark hours in the winter at Lookout Trail temperatures descend to the 10's.
