Mineral Creek Trail   One of my favorite hikes in the world. Unfortunately, a major flood occurred in Mineral Creek Canyon in 2008, leaving many deadfalls and logjams to make hiking a little more difficult. On a positive note, the canyon is still as beautiful as ever,with steep, nearly vertical walls, clear water and many different types of birds present. Says Jack Chiles New Mexico is a great place for hikers. There are many hiking trails in the San Francisco Mountains where     you can absorb the beauty of these mountains. Alright, enough of spending all this time inside a building, time to get out, and Mineral Creek Trail in Catron County, New Mexico is a great place to go. Mineral Creek Trail is not very near Silver City at all but it is a good trail. Why not stop at close by North Fork Mineral Creek while you're here at Mineral Creek Trail. There's so much to do here at Mineral Creek Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Ben Lilly Campground is a delightful location for that. It's a wonderful idea to check out South Fork Mineral Creek, it's next to Mineral Creek Trail, and if you came to camp Willow Creek Campground is a glorious place to do that.   A trip to Mineral Creek Trail wouldn’t be complete without a journey to nearby Gila National Forest. Whitewater paddling is magnificent on San Francisco River. Around Mineral Creek Trail you don’t get a lot of rainfall. Most of the rain falls through August; April is the month with the least moisture.
