Mitchell Trail   In the San Juan and Jemez Mountains there are many great hiking trails where wonderful nature is waiting for you. We all need to get out in nature once in a while and Mitchell Trail in Los Alamos County, New Mexico is just the place. With so many outdoors activities available in New Mexico you'll never get bored. Mitchell Trail is a long drive away from Los Alamos but It's always fun to hike here. Looking for a splendid spree? Bandelier National Monument is     reasonably close to Mitchell Trail. While staying at Mitchell Trail you could always look at Vallecito de los Caballos, and get covered with water paddling on Rio Grande. Camping is available at Las Conchas Campground, and this is a popular site for folks from Los Alamos. Camping at Juniper Campground is always a great experience; drift down the rapids of Rio Chama in a kayak. Summertime at Mitchell Trail comes with high temperatures in the 80's. Summer overnight lows drop down to the 50's. Throughout the winter the highs are generally in the 40's, and overnight lows in the 10's for Mitchell Trail. At Mitchell Trail you don’t see much rain.
