Perchas Trail

  If you are in New Mexico during hiking season you have to go hiking. Put on your hiking shoes and hit the trail, Perchas Trail in Rio Arriba County, New Mexico is a great place to go. You'll have to go far from Los Alamos to get to Perchas Trail but it is a great escape from the city.
In the San Juan and Jemez Mountains you'll find lots of hiking trails where wonderful nature is waiting for you. Don't forget to take a nice little trip to Rito de las Perchas;
    Perchas Trail is a pleasant place to visit for more than one day, Nacimiento Campground is a pleasant place to camp nearby. And that's not all there is to do here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Parque Venado is a great site
to stretch your legs a bit, and a journey to Fenton Lake State Park is a magnificent idea. A magnificent location in the vicinity of Perchas Trail is Puertecito de las Perchas, and Rio las Vacas Campground is a tremendous local campground. Get wet paddling on Jemez River, and soar down the rapids of Rio Chama in a kayak. If you want a wonderful time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Perchas Trail. It is very dried out here at Perchas Trail generally. The month  
with most of the rain is August, and April meanwhile is the driest month. The warmest time of the year at Perchas Trail comes with high temperatures in the 80's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Daytime highs throughout the wintertime are in the 40's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Perchas Trail drop into the 0's.
