Says Chris Fields A visit to Oklahoma is not complete without some hiking. There are many wonderful hiking trails in the Ouachita Mountains where beautiful scenery awaits you. Hey, time for a hike don’t you think? Billy Creek Trail in Le Flore County, Oklahoma is such a great place. Billy     Creek Trail is a long drive away from Fort Smith but it is a really good trail. If you want to hit the beach, Cedar Lake North Shore is nearby. Big Eagle Creek - Eagle Fork has a magnificent whitewater paddling spot nearby; you have to absolutely go to pretty Cedar Lake South Shore since you're here. If you came for an overnight stay Winding Star Campground is a tremendous location to camp, and paddling on Kiamichi River is so much fun. Horse Thief Spring Campground is a good campground nearby, and you'll in all probability meet some folks from Muse here. The high level of precipitation makes Billy Creek Trail a reasonably wet spot. The month of May is the wettest with most of the rain while   January is mostly the driest month. For the period of the summer months at Billy Creek Trail highs are frequently in the 90's. Through the moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 70's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 50's while the cold winter nights at Billy Creek Trail are in the 20's.
