  This part of Pennsylvania has a great deal of available outdoors activities.     and paddling on Moshannon River is so much fun. You're sure to run into some friendly folks from Westport here; you can stay the night at Quiet Oaks Campground. Lick Run is a stream that you may run into during your stay. Whitewater
paddling is splendid on Cross Fork, and Crawford Branch is one of the streams nearby that might be worth going to. Life's too short to enjoy all the enjoyable stuff close to Buckhorn Trail. Since you're here at Buckhorn Trail why not explore Buckhorn Hollow. Buckhorn Trail generally gets lots of rain. The wettest month of the year is generally June, that's the one that rains the most, and January is the month with the least moisture. At Buckhorn Trail all  
through the warm days of summer highs are in the 70's with night lows in the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 20's with temperatures at Buckhorn Trail dipping down into the 10's throughout winter nights.
