Trail wouldn't be complete without taking a look at Gum Spring. If you came for an overnight stay Mountain Lake Cabins is a delightful spot to camp, and at Cowans Trail you always meet someone from Fort Loudon. That right there is
| a load already, but it keeps on going; Cowans Trail has it all. If you come at the right time of year, Big Cove Creek offers some fine whitewater. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Cowans Trail, and all through the night it cools down to the 60's. Through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's while Cowans Trail night low temperatures all through the winter are in the 10's. The annual rainfall here at Cowans Trail is about average. The month with most of the rain is June while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. | |
