Forbes Road Trail   My Boy Scout Troop and I made a run at this trail starting at Cowan's Gap State Park.  We made it about 5 miles before encountering ''STOP!'' ''NO TRESSPASSING!'' ''VIOLATORS WILL BE PROSECUTED!'' signs all the way across the trail and into the woods perpendicular to the trail.  This forces us to not proceed.  We chose instead to trudge our way down the mountain to the road and continue hiking until we reached a local campground where we stayed the night.  We     have not returned due to the uncertainty of this trails continued existence. Forbes Road Trail is a trail quite far from Chambersburg but if you're looking for a good place to go hiking this is a good choice. If you came to camp Mountain Lake Cabins is a fine place to do that; while you're here at Forbes Road Trail it's a nice idea to have a look at The Narrows. Float down the rapids of Big Cove Creek in a kayak. There's   so much to do here at Forbes Road Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Burnt Cabins Grist Mill Ye Olde Mill Campground is a great spot for that. Get drenched paddling on Licking Creek. Forbes Road Trail gets a common amount of rain.
