Horseshoe Trail

  Pretty far from Chambersburg you find Horseshoe Trail but hiking it is great fun any time. Cowans Gap is a delightful spot to spend some time at, and House Spring is a splendid local attraction. There are some good whitewater spots on Licking Creek. Why not camp at Burnt Cabins Grist Mill Ye Olde Mill Campground since you're here at Horseshoe Trail, and The Cove is a tremendous site. Gum Spring is a beautiful place to explore while you're at Horseshoe Trail.
    Camping is available at Mountain Lake Cabins, and during your visit here you'll meet some people from Fort Loudon for sure. Be careful coming to Horseshoe Trail, you might not ever want to return home again. Whitewater paddling is
not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Big Cove Creek. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Horseshoe Trail. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Horseshoe Trail. A typical amount of rain falls here at Horseshoe Trail. The month of June is the wettest with most of the rain, and January on the other hand is the driest.
