Mile Trail

It's a long drive from Chambersburg to Mile Trail but hiking it is always fun. The beauty of mother nature reveals herself at House Spring, and if you came to camp Mountain Lake Cabins is a pleasant spot to do that. Looking for some flowing water? Try Bricker Run. Camping at Burnt Cabins Grist Mill Ye Olde Mill Campground is always a good experience; don't leave Mile Trail without first paying a visit to Gum Spring. There are some perfect whitewater spots on
Licking Creek, and you're sure to run into some good people from Fort Loudon here. Cowans Gap is a fine place to spend some time at, and there's whitewater on Big Cove Creek for all you thrill seekers. You assume that's enough? Just
getting warmed up. From a precipitation point of view Mile Trail is a rather normal spot. Of all the months in a year June is the one with the most rain; January is the month with the least moisture. Throughout the summer months highs here at Mile Trail reach the 80's. During the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 50's. For the duration of the wintertime the highs are usually in the 30's, and night lows at Mile Trail during the winter regularly plunge into the 10's.
