Rattlesnake Trail   It's a long drive from State College to Rattlesnake Trail but when you spend some time hiking here you will feel like a whole new person. No chance of getting bored in Pennsylvania if you like the outdoors. Rattlesnake Trail is not far at all from Sandy Ridge, and not far from here you can enjoy the trees of Moshannon State Forest. Whitewater paddling is perfect on Moshannon River; it's a nice idea to go to Smays Run. In case you don’t mind getting soaked, you     can always go whitewater paddling on Black Moshannon Creek. Snow Shoe Park is a fine local campground; Rattlesnake Trail is a good location to visit for more than one day, Hemlock Acres Campground is a good location to camp nearby. High temperatures at Rattlesnake Trail through the long summer days are in the 70's. All through the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 50's. Daytime highs throughout the winter are in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Rattlesnake Trail are in the 10's. Rattlesnake Trail is a quite wet place mostly with lots of rain.
