Border Trail
| | could you send me the history of the naming of Munyan Trail? Says william munyan
This part of Rhode Island is always a pleasure to visit during hiking season. Keach Brook flows through this neighborhood, and there are some tremendous whitewater spots on Quinebaug River. This is a popular location for people from Thompson, and a quick journey to Blackmore Brook is absolutely a good idea. Quinebaug & Shetucket Rivers Valley National Heritage Corridor |
is a glorious national park, and you can always enjoy a lazy day on the beach at YWCA Beach. Camping at Buck Hill Family Campground is always a great experience, and nothing beats kicking back at Flynns Beach. So many fun things in
| close proximity to Border Trail, definitely mind-boggling. There's a forest here at Border Trail called George Washington Memorial State Forest, and do check out Peck Pond Dam if you're here. If you came to camp Bowdish Lake Camping Area is a pleasant site to do that; if you come at the right time of year, Clear and Branch offers some pleasant whitewater. A trip to Quaddick State Park when you're here at Border Trail is a splendid idea. Border Trail is a reasonably | |
|
wet place usually with a lot of rainfall. November is when you get the most rain here; February is the month with the least moisture. At Border Trail all through the long summer days highs are in the 80's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 50's.
