Silver Arrow Trail   Was on ''50 mile hike'' with Boy Scouts in 1972. Scout Master forgot to account for the ups and downs of the trail on the topographic map so ended up being a ''75 mile hike.''  Ugh. Says Ken Uhlman Made the wrong turn in 1965 as a Boy Scout trying to find Campu Judson.  Troop hiked on the trail from Lake Sheridan to Mt. Rushmore instead.  Extremely grueling with the unplanned additional milage.  Brother and I returned in 2006 and found where we     years before missed the turn.  Spectacular backpacking !!!! It's a long drive from Spearfish to Silver Arrow Trail but many people like to hike here to   be close to nature. Finally, hiking time is here again, and Silver Arrow Trail in Pennington County, South Dakota is a great place to go. South Dakota has so much to offer nature lovers. A nice spot near Silver Arrow Trail is Gingrass Draw; a splendid spot to camp here at Silver Arrow Trail is Box Elder Forks Campground.
