Conasauga Falls Trail   After purchasing a map of the forest roads, we found ourselves at the top of the mountain with a trail heading down.  You can hear the roar of the falls as you make your way down.  After slide down on your bottom to the base of the falls you realize that all the driving in circles (trying to find the right road) and hiking down and up the mountain makes this well worth it.  Says Chris Byard This part of Tennessee is always a pleasure to visit during     hiking season. There are many hiking trails in the Great Smoky Mountains where you can truly take in all the beauty of these mountains. Time to get out and breathe some fresh air, and Conasauga Falls Trail in Monroe County, Tennessee is just what you need. You'll have to go far from Athens to get to Conasauga Falls Trail but it is one of many great trails in this area. Conasauga Falls Trail is a good site to visit for more than one day, Little Tellico Campground is a good site to camp nearby. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Conasauga Creek, and don't leave without going to Hiwassee/Ocoee Scenic River State Park. There are plenty of people from Tellico Plains here at Conasauga Falls Trail,   and there are some great whitewater spots on Coker Creek. Hog Branch is one of the streams close by that might be worth checking out. Tellico Plains Koa is a good campground nearby; there's some flowing water close by, Hooper Branch is a stream you can pop by while you're here.
