Doc Rogers Trail

  Time to get out and breathe some fresh air, and Doc Rogers Trail in Monroe County, Tennessee is a good choice. There are many wonderful hiking trails in the Great Smoky Mountains where you can truly take in all the beauty of these mountains. This part of Tennessee is always a pleasure to visit during hiking season. It's a long drive from Athens to Doc Rogers Trail but it is a great escape from the city.
Peels Gap is a fine site to stop at close by. There's
    so much to do here at Doc Rogers Trail that you need to camp here for a while, McNabb Creek - Cherokee National Forest is a fine place for that. Hiwassee/Ocoee Scenic River State Park is a great place, and why not go to Unicoi Dam
if you're here. The cheerful folks of Tellico Plains like to hang out nearby; don't forget to take a perfect little tour to Johnson Branch. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Doc Rogers Trail has to offer, you can camp at Tellico Plains Koa. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Conasauga Creek. It's a nice idea to visit Big Branch, it's near Doc Rogers Trail; there's whitewater on Wildcat Creek for  
all you adrenaline people. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this place. The high level of rain makes Doc Rogers Trail a rather wet spot. For the period of March this area sees the most rain, and October on the other hand is the driest. Summertime highs at Doc Rogers Trail ordinarily tend to be in the 80's with overnight lows in the 60's.
