Pond Mountain Trail   While visiting this area in Tennessee it's a good idea to go hiking too. Plot Branch flows through this area, and if you come at the right time of year, Watauga offers some nice whitewater. There's some flowing water nearby, Maple Springs Branch is a stream you can explore during your stay. Pond Mountain Trail is not far at all from Roan Mountain, and Dennis Cove Campground is a nice campground nearby. Pierce Spring is a pretty location to stop by while you're     at Pond Mountain Trail. Cardens Bluff Campground is a glorious local campground, and float down the rapids of Doe River - Laurel Fork in a kayak. And if that's not sufficient, there's a lot more to do in the neighborhood of Pond Mountain Trail. While staying at Pond Mountain Trail you could always look at Brushy Ridge Gap, and a journey to Roan Mountain State Park when you're here is never a bad idea. Pond Mountain Trail gets a normal amount of rainfall. Most of the rain falls through July; October is when it's the driest. All through the warm days of summer at Pond Mountain Trail temperatures are mostly in the 80's. During the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 60's. For the duration of the   wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Pond Mountain Trail temperatures descend to the 20's.
