Cliff Branch Trail   Spending too much time indoors got you down? No problem, if you happen to be in Carroll County of Virginia, Cliff Branch Trail is a great local trail for doing a bit of leg stretching. It's a long drive from North Wilkesboro to Cliff Branch Trail but what a great place for hiking it is. If you are in Virginia during hiking season you have to go hiking. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Elk Creek. There's so much to do here at Cliff Branch Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Fries New River RV Park is a tremendous   location for that. If you come at the right time of year, New River offers some glorious whitewater. Throughout the warm months here at Cliff Branch Trail, high temperatures frequently reach the 80's, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's.
