Looking for some flowing water? Try Lewis Fork, and you can run the rapids of Green Cove Creek. Camping at Wilderness Trail is always a great experience; lots of people from Whitetop come here. is a tremendous local campground. There's whitewater on Big Wilson Creek for all you adrenaline kick people. Places like Grayson Highlands State Park are fine to take a look at, and hey, Grindstone Branch is a wonderful local stream.

Summer nighttime lows plunge down to the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's with temperatures at Cliffside Trail dipping down into the 20's through winter nights.
