Cove Trail   You'll have to go far from Roanoke to get to Cove Trail but it is a fun place to hike for the whole family. There's whitewater on Barbours Creek for all you adrenaline kick people, and The Pines Campground is a delightful local campground. You can run the rapids of Johns Creek right next door to Cove Trail, and lots of folks from Paint Bank come here. A spree to Potts Cove revitalizes the soul, and why not camp at Steel Bridge Campground while you're here at Cove Trail.     Cove Trail is close to Jefferson National Forest which is a charming spot. The annual rainfall here at Cove Trail is about average. July is the month that gets the most rain; February is the month with the least moisture. For the duration of the months of summer at Cove Trail temperatures are usually in the 80's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 50's.
