Ellis Trail   I'm looking for a good trail to do in the winter with some hot or warm springs to enjoy along the way...oh yeah...in Virginia... any ideas? Says Ray It's a long drive from Roanoke to Ellis Trail but you always have a good time when you're hiking along it. Spending too much time indoors got you down? No problem, Ellis Trail in Bath County, Virginia is a perfect place for getting out. A splendid spot to camp here at Ellis Trail is Blowing Springs Campground,     and obviously Hoover Run flows through this neighborhood. Get your heart pumping on the great whitewater of Wilson Creek; let's not forget Cowardin Run which is a stream that you may encounter during your stay. You don’t have to go far from Ellis Trail to catch a glimpse of the water at Lake Bacova Dam. Don't leave Ellis Trail without first paying a visit to Grose Spring, and nearby Coles Hollow is a tremendous spot to go. Why not camp at Hidden Valley Campground since you're here at Ellis Trail; Ellis Trail is not far at all from Bacova. But wait, there's more to do in the vicinity of Ellis Trail. You can run the rapids of Back Creek - Jackson Tributary right next door to Ellis Trail, and   Douthat State Park is a scenic location any time of year. High temperatures at Ellis Trail throughout the days of summer are in the 80's with nighttime lows in the 50's. During the wintertime highs are mostly in the 30's; night lows in the 10's for Ellis Trail.
