  Hickory Ridge Trail is a long drive away from Bluefield but it is a good trail. Virginia has so much to offer nature lovers. Hiking trails are all over the Blue Ridge Mountains where you can absorb the beauty of these mountains. Hey, time for a hike donít you think? Hickory Ridge Trail in Smyth County, Virginia is a really good place to spend some time.
Why not camp at Raccoon Branch Campground since you're here at Hickory Ridge Trail; Dickey Gap is
    close by, and is a good site. You absolutely must go for the Blue Ridge Mountains. Lots of folks from Troutdale come to Hickory Ridge Trail, and let's not forget Scott Branch which is a stream that you may encounter during your stay.
A magnificent place to camp here at Hickory Ridge Trail is Hurricane Campground; there's whitewater on New River for all you adrenaline junkies. Grayson Highlands State Park is a perfect place, and unsurprisingly Solomon Branch flows through this region. What a location this is for outdoors people. There are some splendid whitewater spots on Big Wilson Creek. Hickory Ridge Trail is a relatively wet place mostly with lots of precipitation. Through July this area  
sees the most rain while November is the month with the least amount of precipitation. During the days of summer here at Hickory Ridge Trail, high temperatures regularly get into the 80's, and all through the night it cools down to the 50's.
