Sweet Acorn Trail

  It's a long drive from Roanoke to Sweet Acorn Trail but what a great place for hiking it is. Alright, enough of spending all this time inside a building, time to get out, and Sweet Acorn Trail in Bath County, Virginia is just the place. Bolar Mountain Campground is a tremendous campground nearby, and some close by water includes Mill Creek. If you come at the right time of year, Wilson Creek offers some wonderful whitewater. Sweet Acorn Trail is not far at
    all from Hot Springs, and glide down the rapids of Jackson River in a kayak. McClintic Point Primitive Campground is a great local campground; Meadow Lick Hollow is also a pleasant location to explore. Everybody loves Douthat State
Park. Through the long summer days at Sweet Acorn Trail temperatures are regularly in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 50's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 30's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Sweet Acorn Trail fall into the 10's. The high level of precipitation makes Sweet Acorn Trail a pretty wet location. Of all the months in a year July is the one with the most rain, and the driest of the months is February.
