In the Green Mountains there are many great hiking trails, it's a great hiking area. Canty Trail is a trail quite far from     Rutland but it's one of those places where hiking is great. Mill River has a splendid whitewater paddling spot close by. A visit to Gifford Woods State Park when you're here at Canty Trail is a magnificent idea. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Canty Trail has to offer, you can camp at Iroquois Land Family Campground. Paddling on Clarendon River is so much fun; Canty Trail is a good location to visit for more than one day, Hapgood Pond - Green Mountain National Forest is a good location to camp nearby. close to Canty Trail you'll hit upon a wooded vicinity called Rutland City Forest, and if you're visiting from Pittsfield, you won't be the only one. Why not visit   Lefferts Dam if you're here; naturally Brewers Brook flows through this region. But wait, there's more to do right next door to Canty Trail.
