  You'll have to go far from Rutland to get to Green Mountain Trail but it sure is a nice trail. Canít wait to get out in nature, Green Mountain Trail in Rutland County, Vermont is just what you need. There are many hiking trails in the Green Mountains, it's a great hiking area.
With so many outdoors activities available in Vermont you'll never get bored. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Big Branch, and if you came for an overnight stay Campground A is
    a good place to camp. All year is a good time in the Green Mountains if you like the outdoors. Visit Big Black Branch if you're here at Green Mountain Trail. Emerald Lake State Park is a good site to go if you're at Green Mountain
Trail; camping is available at Otter Creek Campground. Take a side spree to Little Black Branch; you'll meet a lot of people from Danby here. If you come at the right time of year, Mill River offers some great whitewater. Green Mountain Trail gets a typical amount of rain. August is the wettest month with most rain, and February on the other hand is the driest. Through the summertime months here at Green Mountain Trail, high temperatures ordinarily reach the 80's.  
Summer nighttime lows drop down to the 50's. All through the winter the highs are generally in the 20's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Green Mountain Trail drop into the 0's.
