  In the Green Mountains there are many great hiking trails where you can truly take in all the beauty of these mountains. Outdoors people generally like this part of Vermont. Put on your hiking shoes and hit the trail, Homer Stone Trail in Rutland County, Vermont is just what you need. It's a long drive from Rutland to Homer Stone Trail but you always have a good time when you're hiking along it.
Stay the night at Campground A; why not take a little journey
    to Little Black Branch if you're here. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors fun things the Green Mountains has to offer. Otter Creek Campground is a great campground nearby; during your trip here you'll meet some folks from
Wallingford for sure. Mill River is a splendid whitewater spot close to Homer Stone Trail, and Emerald Lake State Park is a great location to stretch your legs a bit. A great place for whitewater paddling in close proximity to Homer Stone Trail is Big Branch. All through the summertime months, highs mostly are in the 80's at Homer Stone Trail. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 50's. Through the wintertime the highs are generally in the 20's, and night  
lows in the 0's for Homer Stone Trail. Homer Stone Trail is a good location of typical rainfall. The wettest month of the year is generally August, that's the one that rains the most, and February on the other hand is the driest.
