Southern Tip Trail   While visiting this area in Vermont it's a good idea to go hiking too. It's a long drive from Burlington-South Burlington to Southern Tip Trail but when you hike it you're always having a good time. If you don’t have a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Browns River. Burton Island State Park is a great place, and Campbells Bay Campground is a great campground nearby. Eagle Bay is pretty in close proximity to Southern Tip     Trail, and Carry Bay Campground and Cottages is a magnificent local campground. Southern Tip Trail is not far at all from South Hero; Salmon River has a wonderful whitewater paddling spot nearby. High temperatures at Southern Tip Trail during the long summer days are in the 80's, and the night is fairly colder of course, regularly in the 50's.
