Big Run Trail

Big Run Trail is not very near Roanoke at all but hiking it is great fun any time. A visit to West Virginia is not complete without some hiking. If you come at the right time of year, Anthony Creek offers some pleasant whitewater. Big Run Trail is great enough to spend more than a day at, End Of The Trail Campground is a great local campground. There are plenty of people from Frankford here at Big Run Trail, and Watoga State Park is a good place to stop at.
If you came to camp Blue Bend Rec Area - Monongahela National Forest is a magnificent site to do that; some of the water close by flows, like Snodgrass Run. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend
Robbins Run. Looking for some flowing water? Try Big Run. High temperatures at Big Run Trail throughout the summertime are in the 80's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's; overnight lows in the 10's for Big Run Trail. The high level of precipitation makes Big Run Trail a rather wet location. July is the wettest month with most rain while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
