Mill Mountain Trail

  Mill Mountain Trail is located quite a long drive from Winchester but it is a good trail. West Virginia is a great place for hikers. A trip to Mill Mountain Trail wouldn’t be complete without a tour to close by Lost River State Park. A visit to Trout Run Valley is always fun, and the beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Sandstone Spring. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Mill Mountain Trail has to offer, you can camp at Big Stony Family
    Campgrounds. There are plenty of people from Wardensville here at Mill Mountain Trail. In the event that you don’t have a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Stony Creek - North fork Shenandoah
Tributary. Mill Creek is a great local stream, and Trout Run is a delightful whitewater spot close by. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. Take a side trip to Deep Gutter Run, and Woodstock Dam has nice water scenery. Stay the night at Trout Pond Campground. At Mill Mountain Trail during the summer months highs are in the 80's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 60's. Highs during the winter are frequently in the 30's,  
and overnight lows at Mill Mountain Trail through the winter regularly plunge into the 10's. The yearly rainfall here at Mill Mountain Trail is about average. For the period of July this area sees the most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
