North Fork Mountain Trail

07/28/2017 Hiked the 502 trail on Friday with my daughter and 2 nieces and the view was spectacular. Only BAD review and advice I want give is please leave your valuables at home or lock in your trunk, some POS broke into my tool box and helped themselves to my tools. I read a recent review that another hiker had their possessions stolen and I thought that they were safe in my locked tool box.... NOT
Says Gary Kramer

North Fork Mountain is the driest
mountain in the central appalachians as it lies directly in the rain shadow of Allegheny Front, which pulls down most of the precipitation.  There is no water on or near the top anywhere so bring whatever you will need!  I have been
going up there for oh, 35 years!
Says Jim Newman

North Fork Mountain Trail is gorgeous, especially once you get to the top. Once on top of the mountain, looking down over what the locals call ''Shelby's Cliffs,'' you can see for miles and miles. Fantastic

This part of West Virginia is always a pleasure to visit during hiking season. A trip to North Fork Mountain Trail wouldn't be complete without taking a look at Cold Spring.

Get covered with water paddling on Red Creek, and a good place to camp here at North Fork Mountain Trail is Big Bend - Monongahela National Forest. Getting to Jordan Run from North Fork Mountain Trail is trouble-free. Why not camp at Red Creek Campground if you're here at North Fork Mountain Trail, and North Fork Mountain Trail is a location with many visitors from Cabins.
