South Prong Trail

  Pretty far from Harrisonburg you find South Prong Trail but hiking is such a fun thing to do and this is a great place to do that. With so many outdoors activities available in West Virginia you'll never get bored. Here at South Prong Trail there are plenty of people from Dryfork. There's so much to do here at South Prong Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Smoke Hole Campground is a delightful location for that. A quick tour to Stonecoal Run close
    to South Prong Trail is a perfect idea; a great site like Blackwater Falls State Park is too good to leave out. While you're here at South Prong Trail it's a pleasant idea to check out Flatrock Plains. You'll need more than a day
to discover everything South Prong Trail has to offer, you can camp at Red Creek Campground. Do set aside some time for Red Creek Plains while you're here at South Prong Trail, and Red Creek is a good whitewater spot close by. Just can't get enough of South Prong Trail. Through the long summer days at South Prong Trail highs are commonly in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 50's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the  
30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to South Prong Trail. South Prong Trail is a wet location that gets a good deal of precipitation. The month of July is the wettest with most of the rain while February is usually the driest month.
