Stonecoal Trail

  This part of West Virginia is always a pleasure to visit during hiking season. You can't spend all your time indoors you need to get out once in a while and Stonecoal Trail in Tucker County, West Virginia is such a great place. Stonecoal Trail is a trail quite far from Morgantown but hiking it is always fun. Stonecoal Run is a delightful stream that is worth stopping at, and you'll meet a lot of folks from Dryfork here. Why not visit close by Fisher Spring
    Run since you're here at Stonecoal Trail, and paddling on Red Creek is so much fun. Blackwater Falls State Park is a wonderful place to stretch your legs a bit; Blackwater Lodge is a great local campground. Red Creek has a great whitewater
paddling spot nearby, and why not camp at Red Creek Campground if you're here at Stonecoal Trail. This place is unbeatable, just explore all the exciting stuff to do close to Stonecoal Trail. At Stonecoal Trail through the summer highs are in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. Highs through the winter are frequently in the 30's with temperatures at Stonecoal Trail dipping down into the 10's through winter nights. The high level of precipitation  
makes Stonecoal Trail a relatively wet place. July is the wettest month with most rain, and February is the month with the least moisture.
